2010 Season Preview
The Golden Knights return to action this fall promising another season of exciting results. Coming off a disappointing 4th place finish at Mission League Finals, the Knights refused to cash their chips in and fought hard at CIF Prelims, running an 84:01 and narrowly missing qualifying as a team for the CIF Divisional Finals. With a return trip to CIF Finals set as the team's goal, this season should show their tenacity.
The St. Francis harriers will be led once again by Senior Captain Kyle Palazzolo. With a career best performance of 15:52 at Mt. SAC he moved up to 4th place on the school's all-time list, setting a Junior Record en-route. With his goal set on Fresno, the site of the CIF State Cross Country Championships, Kyle hopes to leave a strong legacy at the school.
Returning Varsity runners Tyler Kawachi ('11), Lance Bird ('12), Collin Peterson ('12), Danny Velladao ('11), Joe Chang ('11) , and Chris Carmody ('11) will add depth and experience to the program as they continue to better their performances from last season.
Coach Donovan '03, who begins his 4th season as the Golden Knights' coach, feels confident in the abilities of this unique group of athletes: "They have had a great sumer of training and have been able to take everything I've thrown at them in stride. If they stay this tough all season, we will surprise some teams out there."
