2011 - 2012 Season Preview
The Golden Knights Varsity Basketball team will be led by All Mission League 2nd Team senior guards Emerson Castaneda and Zack Gardea. These veterans will be joined by seniors Collin Peterson, Justin Trout, Matt Kaufman and Tei Vanderford who have a limited amount of varsity experience but will be looked upon to step-up in their final year. The balance of the squad will be young with two juniors, three sophomores and one freshman who will need to make a solid contribution to iinsure a successful season. The Golden Knights face a rigorous preseason tournament schedule and will need to mature to be prepared for a highly competitive Mission League schedule.
Jeff Stephens and Ray O'Brien enter their fourth year as co-Varsity head coaches. They will be assisted again by Chris Brandt and Kevin Peterson. Coach Brandt also coaches the frosh team where he emphasizes the fundamentals and discipline that have become the cornerstone of the program.
The Golden Knights hope a challenging schedule will once again prepare them for a CIF playoff berth where they will compete in Division 3A this year. Please come out and support the Golden Knights as they compete against some of the top and most talented teams in Southern California.
