2012 BASEBALL PREVIEW
The Golden Knights look to build off of a strong 2011 season that saw the boys reach post season play, where they lost to Palos Verdes Peninsula in the Wild Card game of the play-offs. The Golden Knights finished the year with a 14-14 recored (6-6 in league, tied for 3rd. ) The team returns 11 letterman that all saw significant time in the field last year!!
The Golden Knights will be led by Seniors Tei Vanderford (RHP/3B), David Olmedo-Barrera (INF) and Jeff Garavaglia (CF/DH) - Vanderford will be the ace of the staff and hit 3rd for the Golden Knights. Olmedo-Barrera (returning 1st team All-Mission League) will look to give the team solid defensive play and a quality left handed bat at the top of the line-up and Garavaglia (returning 2nd Team All-Mission League) looks to build off a great 2011 season and hit in the middle of the line-up.
The Golden Knights will look for contributions from pitchers Danny Monarrez (JR), Will Larkin (SR), Ryan Garcia (SR) and Jesse Torrero (JR) -- offensively the team will look for strong seasons out of Pete Hofman (SR - 1B), PJ Dezotell (SR - INF), Anders Schraer (JR - RF),Andrew Gatti (SR - C) and James La Manna (SR - 1B/DH)
The Golden Knights will open the 2012 season in the Easton Tournament and participate in the Arcadia High School and the Righetti High School Spring Tournaments. The Golden Knights will host Corona High School in a twilight DH and finish up the season in the always tough Mission League!!
All home games are played at the Jackie Robinson Field (Rose Bowl) - come on out and enjoy a baseball game and what looks to be an exciting 2012 season!!!
