ANNUAL FUND In your son's freshmen year, we ask you to make a fouryear pledge to our Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is an important part of our operating budget. One of the objectives of our Strategic Plan, Vision 20/20, was to invest annually in our learning environment and physical plant so as to provide the best possible educational facilities.
Accordingly, for the last seven years, we have completely renovated and refurbished nineteen classrooms, the computer and science labs, the KNIT television studio, renovated kitchen facilities for food service, created an Activities Quad and architecturally restored and refurbished room 404 as a meeting room. During the 2003-2004 school year this fund supported the renovation of the old locker rooms into two new classrooms and a set of public restrooms in the Learning Center Building. In addition we were able to supplement the capital campaign fund and install the all-weather track on the athletic field. Your participation in the Annual Fund helps us meet our yearly objectives.
ANNUAL FUNDRAISERS POSH / Mini-POSH Preserving Our Scholastic Heritage Every year, St. Francis High School holds a fundraising event. Both events bring current parents, parents of graduates, and friends of St. Francis together to raise money for the school. In the even years, Mini-POSH is held and in the odd years, POSH. Mini-POSH is typically held on campus and includes a silent auction, casino tables, cocktails and dinner. Parents are asked to make a donation of $75 or contribute a new auction item of equal or greater value. Sponsorship levels are also available. Parents are encouraged to attend. Additionally, a Grand Raffle is held. Tickets may be bought or sold individually -parents are also asked to sell one $75 book of tickets. The proceeds from Mini-POSH are designated along with the Annual Fund for the summer projects.
POSH is held off campus so as to accommodate a large number of guests and the elaborate scope of the event. This is a formal affair with a sit-down dinner and a silent auction followed by a live auction. Parents are asked to donate a new auction item (valued at $100 or more), make a cash donation of $100 or make a donation to sponsor the event. In most cases, gifts from personal or business contacts can fulfill this requirement. In addition, as with Mini-POSH, a Grand Raffle is held - parents are asked to sell one $100 book of tickets.
STUDENT FUNDRAISER
With the assistance of our parents, we ask our students to participate in an annual fundraiser. Each year the student council and Mothers Guild are consulted on the product that will be sold. In previous years, this has included Christmas card, Entertainment Book and See's Candy sales. The proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to the summer renovation projects. We believe through the students involvement, they will gain a shared responsibility for investing in their learning environment and appreciate the sacrifice that their parents make for their education at St. Francis.
ESCRIP
Parents are encouraged to designate St. Francis High School as a beneficiary of the eScrip program at VONS and other member stores. By doing so, a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the school on your behalf. The proceeds from eScrip are assigned to the Annual Fund. You may sign up online at www.escrip.com, through the Development Office or through the Mothers Guild.
