2018 Volleyball Season Preview
Last season’s team performed very well. We finished 6th out of 35 teams in the all tough and prestigious Dos Pueblos Boy’s Classic Tournament, while ending the Camarillo Tournament 4th of 35 teams.
The outlook for next spring’s volleyball season is comprised of two major components. The first being the fact that we have positions being manned by returning seasoned varsity players and the second is how well the younger boys can step into the roles of the plyers we lost through graduation. Returning setters, Joey Thompson and Jamie Moreno will be carrying the load running the offense. While returning Michael Dumansky and Valentin Medina will patrol the middle. The graduation of 4 year varsity starter, St. Francis career kill leader and 2 time all Mission League 1stteamer, Sean Stephen, leaves a very large spot to fill. We look forward to Gage Peterson (senior returning varsity outside hitter) to step into that role vacated by Sean. After a very successful summer league, a few of last year’s JV players made an impact at the varsity level. We will be heavy to underclassmen but still have plenty of experience to compete.
