Cross Country Preview – Fall 2015
The Golden Knights return to action this fall promising another season of exciting results. After moving down from Division 3 to Division 4 after a reseeding of divisions last year, the team has the possibility of advancing well into the post-season championships if all goes well.
This year’s team returns four runners who have competed on Varsity over the past few seasons. Several of those athletes come off very strong track seasons last spring. St. Francis will be led by Seniors: Matthew Fernandez, Ryan Hambley, Eric Peacock, Chris Rodriguez, Michael Vega, and Bowen Waugh all of whom hope to leave their legacy at the school.
Coach Patrick Donovan, ‘03, who begins his 9th season as the Golden Knights’ coach, is excited about the upcoming season: “We have a group of six senior runners who have the ability to lead this team to a stellar finish. Most of that group has raced on the varsity squad for multiple seasons. If they stay healthy, continue to increase their fitness, and build on where they left off last season the team will turn some heads this fall. I’m excited to see what they can do.”
