Admissions Requirements
St. Francis High School seeks to admit students who wish to excel academically, socially, and spiritually. St. Francis High School does not discriminate against any applicant because of race, religion, or national origin in conformity with Christian charity and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In accordance with State Bylaw Article 2, Section 222, St. Francis High School has an open enrollment policy. Contact the Registrar or ext. 502 for details.

Admission is based upon grade school work, performance on standardized testing, teacher recommendations, entrance exam results, and a personal interview.

Admissions Examination: Scholastic Testing Service High School Placement Test (HSPT).
For Those Entering 9th Grade:
1. Complete an application form provided by St. Francis High School, to be accompanied by a $75 application fee (this may be waived for grave financial reasons). The application deadline is January 30,  2010, the day of our entrance exam. There will be an additional $25 fee for a late application.

2. Take the entrance examination offered at St. Francis High School. The exam begins at 8:30 a.m. and is given at the school on January 30, 2010. Under some circumstances other types of entrance exams may be submitted in place of the St. Francis exam. Please call the school for verification.

Upon receipt of a completed application, St. Francis High School will request:
Three years of official transcripts, including all standardized test scores, from the eighth grade school or schools last attended. Faxed transcripts will not be accepted.
St. Francis High School will mail SFHS Rating Form to current school. A junior high teacher or administrator will then forward the completed form to St. Francis High School.
Complete Pastor Recommendation Form (included in Application Packet).
Interview with applicant and parents with a member of the Admissions Committee or staff.
Attendance, Tardiness, Disciplinary Records.
For Those Entering the Tenth, Eleventh or Twelfth Grades:
  1. Submit an application form provided by St. Francis High School, to be accompanied by a $75 application fee.
  2. St. Francis will contact you to schedule an admissions interview.
  3. Taking the entrance exam is not required.
  4. Verify your transcript does not have any failing grades, i.e., failures must be made up before admission to St. Francis.

Upon receipt of a completed application, St. Francis High School will request:
Three years of official transcripts, including all standardized test scores from school(s) last attended. Faxed transcripts will not be accepted.
  • St. Francis High School will mail SFHS Rating Form to school(s) attended. A teacher or administrator will then forward the completed form to St. Francis High School.
  • Complete Pastor Recommendation Form (included in Application Packet).
  • Interview with applicant and parents with a member of the Admissions Committee or staff.
  • Applications for tenth, eleventh or twelfth grade will be considered after re-registration for current students, typically in early May.
Freshman acceptance letters will be mailed in March 5th, 2010. Applications for all other grades will be considered in May.
 
TRANSFERRING TO ANOTHER SCHOOL
(Transferring out of St. Francis High School)
The student and parents are to notify the school IN WRITING (a form is located in the front office) of any intentions to withdraw from St. Francis High School. Upon receipt of written notification from the parents, the office will send the official transcript requested by the receiving school. Official transcripts will not be forwarded to the receiving school until the request for withdrawal is cleared by the Vice Principal, Academic Vice Principal, and the school tuition office.

Students who withdraw prior to the conclusion of a semester will not be granted credits. Withdrawal grades will be forwarded to the school they choose and that school will be responsible to grant credit by pro-rating the withdrawal grades with the work done at the new school.
